Road Trip to Seattle: Seattle
We arrived in Seattle today to stay with my cousin. It was cool having someone to show us around all of the "local" hang-outs, as well as the "tourist" places.
This is a wall in downtown Seattle. It's called the Gum Wall. This is exactly how it sounds. It's a wall full of gum. It's gross and cool at the same time. It's actually pretty famous, so it was cool to see.

My cousins and I ate at Anthony's. It was right on the water and had an awesome view of boats, shops, cruise ships...

Road Trip to Seattle: Oregon
After leaving Klamath River this morning, we drove up to Medford, Oregon and had lunch with my friend, Jennifer. It was really good to see her. My cousin and I drove up to the Portland area and camped at a really cool campground. It was right by three water falls. Man, they were awesome to see. They were SO big. Horsetail Falls has a trail that leads up to the middle of the waterfall. The trail was in a "forest" of trees. It was so green and pretty.
There were some really amazing tunnels by these waterfalls. I like taking pictures of tunnels. This picture reminds me of that saying "There's light at the end of the tunnel". Light, to me, means hope. It reminds me that there is hope at the end of the trials. It's something good for me to keep in mind.

Road Trip to Seattle: Klamath River
Yesterday we drove up to Northern California. It's not what I expected. There was nothing but large farming areas. It looked like a bunch of ghost towns.
We ended up driving to the California/Oregon Border and slept by the Klammath River. My cousin found a desserted road with the Klamath River right below it, and the freeway right above us. Both of them were about 300 feet from us. It was awesome going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the river. It brought back memories of the rafting trip I took on this river back in middle school. Fun memories.

Road Trip to Seattle: San Francisco
My cousin and I are in Berkeley staying with my aunt. We went to San Francisco today. We did too much to include in my blog, so I'll just give a brief summary.
San Francisco is a really confusing city to drive in. The streets share the lanes with the cable cars, so it's confusing to know which lane to drive in. Next time I come here, I'd rather not drive.
We went to Union Square and walked around the shops. There was a really cool metal heart that someone painted a picture on. I was told that it was auctioned off to raise money for a benefit auction, and sold for several thousand dollars. I think they said around $50,000, but don't quote me on that.
We drove on the Golden Gate Bridge and took A LOT of pictures. I took them on my 35mm camera, so I don't have any of them to include in this blog.
We also went to Fisherman's Wharf. I've been there before, but it was still really fun to walk around.

Road Trip to Seattle: Pismo Beach
It's been pretty awesome seeing places I've never seen before on my first road trip. There are some pretty amazing places along the California Coast. Today we went to Pismo Beach. It's a really cool beach city, that has some amazing beaches. We stopped at Spyglass Park. It was a great place to take pictures, since it was on a cliff above the water. The beaches in Pismo Beach are different than the one's at home. The beaches here have cliffs above the water. I love that!
